NPE 2003 marks the North American debut of two new toggle-clamp injection molding machines from Sandretto USA Inc. (Booth S638).
Sandretto USA also announces it now is selling all-electric molding presses made in Italy by Bodini Presse srl. Sandretto is the U.S. unit of another Italian firm, Turin-based Sandretto Industrie SpA.
Sandretto is sharing a 2,400-square-foot booth with its sister company, polyurethane machinery maker Cannon USA Inc.
One of the new toggle machines, the high-speed Mach 3, comes in clamping forces of 150-400 tons. Sandretto is targeting high-volume and technical parts that require thin walls or long flow paths.
The Mach 3 has an electric screw drive. Independent hydraulics, run by independent accumulators, drive movements for clamping and injection. The moving platen is supported with feet, ensuring alignment.
The other toggle, Series NS, is the next generation of Sandretto's general-purpose press. Available in clamping forces of 75-485 tons, the press has a compact footprint and an energy-efficient hydraulic system.
The Mach 3 and NS both come with an SEF 2000 controller.
Sandretto USA also is showing a 100-ton all-electric press, kicking off its distribution deal with Bodini. Sandretto USA said it is the sole U.S. distributor of the Bodini Eledrive presses, available in clamping forces of 25-165 tons. Sandretto also will handle service.
Features of the Eledrive include generous clamp and platen dimensions and a compact machine design. Besozzo, Italy-based Bodini introduced the Eledrive at K'98, but it primarily has been sold in Europe.
Sandretto and Cannon USA both are part of Cannon Group in Trezzano, Italy.
