Tinius Olsen Testing Machine Co. Inc. (Booth E10705) brought more than its laboratory systems to Chicago. It also brought a new brand image.
Some of the company's machines had been sold in Europe under the name of its Hounsfield Testing Equipment company in England, marketing manager Wayne Hayward said June 23.
Since the start of this year, the company has used the Tinius Olsen name across its brands. Many customers had both Tinius Olsen and Hounsfield systems in their labs, yet had no idea they were coming from the same firm.
The firm also adopted a standard color scheme for its equipment, using a light cream color and green trim, so lab users and operators will recognize its equipment at a glance, Hayward said.
At NPE, the firm is debuting a series of new testing equipment, which also should improve safety and use for operators.
The Model IT 503 impact tester now comes with interlocked safety shielding and available automatic braking system and motorized pendulum return for increased safety, along with a pneumatic clamping system for better test repeatability.
A pneumatic purge device for the MP600 melt plastometer product line aids in reducing operator fatigue, automating both the purging and cleaning the unit.
