CHICAGO (July 1, 9:50 a.m. EDT) — Resin distributor API-Kolon recently added specialty resin polyamide imide to its product slate.
The Bensenville, Ill.-based firm began offering the material in early 2003, marketing manager Max Hahn said at NPE 2003 in Chicago.
API-Kolon is a North American unit of Korean chemicals and plastic maker Kolon Industries Inc. The unit also distributes nylon 6 and 6/6, polybutylene terephthalate, PET, thermoplastic elastomers and acetal, all of which are imported from Kolon sites in Asia.
The electronics segment is API-Kolon's largest end market, Hahn added.
API-Kolon operates warehouses in Bensenville, Los Angeles, and Elizabeth, N.J. The 5-year-old firm employs 15 and posted sales of $10 million in 2002. Hahn said he expects API-Kolon to hit the $12 million sales mark this year.
