CHICAGO (July 14, 3:45 p.m. EDT) — Auxiliary equipment maker ACS Group, which already has been distributing Colortronic materials-handling equipment, has purchased the U.S. operations of Colortronic International AG.
ACS will distribute Colortronic's entire line of powder conveying, blending and drying equipment, under ACS brands including Sterling. Also under the agreement, ACS will supply equipment to be sold in Europe under the Colortronic name.
Stephen Petrakis, vice president of sales and marketing at Sterling Inc., said ACS is going to leave Colortronic intact here and will keep the same manufacturers' representatives.
Milwaukee-based Sterling will use a mix of Colortronics and Sterling materials-handling equipment. The materials-handling products, marketed under the name Sterling Material Processing, will include a complete line of dryers, blenders and central- and single-conveying systems.
Colortronic International President Marcel Rohr and Thomas Breslin, ACS president and chief executive officer, both said the goal is to provide single-source supply to customers.
“The agreement … allows each group a more global reach and more complete product lines,” Breslin said.
ACS is based in Wood Dale, Ill.
