CHICAGO (July 30, 9:45 a.m. EDT) — Scheer Bay Co. of Bay City, Mich., reported at NPE 2003 that it had signed a $4.7 million contract to supply an undisclosed polystyrene manufacturer in Shanghai, China, with six large water-slide pelletizers.
Michael Boyce, vice president of sales, said the pelletizers will be shipped by Scheer Bay's joint venture partner, C.F. Sheer & CIE GmbH & Co. The machines will be made in Stuttgart, Germany, and delivered by Dec. 29.
Boyce said Scheer has supplied numerous pelletizing systems to companies in China, but he would not provide details.
Scheer Bay operates out of an 18,000-square-foot facility and has 20 employees. The company makes water-slide pelletizers, pultrusion pelletizers and air knives.
