CHICAGO (Aug. 8, 1:45 p.m. EDT) — Kreyenborg Industries introduced at NPE 2003 a line of lower-cost continuous screen changers.
The new line is expected to take market share from slide-plate screen changers, which usually are less expensive than the dual-piston, continuous models Kreyenborg has sold, said Dana Darley, president of Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Kreyenborg.
The new models are off-the-shelf machines that afford some benefits of continuous machines, such as not having to shut off the machine to change screens, but are priced comparably to slide-plate models, he said.
The models are targeted at the sheet, film and profile markets, and for commodity materials like polypropylene and polystyrene. Any customization will raise the price, he said. One model at the show, the VL-125, can process 1,500 pounds per hour. The machines have universal mounting arrangements.
