Kreyenborg Industries is introducing a line of lower-cost continuous screen changers.
Kreyenborg hopes the new model will take market share from slide-plate screen changers, which are usually less expensive than the dual-piston continuous models that Kreyenborg has sold, said Dana Darley, president of Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Kreyenborg.
The new models are off-the-shelf machines that afford some benefits of continuous machines, such as not having to shut off the machine to change screens, but are priced comparably to slide plate models, he said.
The models are targeted at the sheet, film and profile markets, and for commodity materials like polypropylene and polystyrene. Any customization will raise the price, he said. One model at the show, the VL-125, can process up to 1,500 pounds per hour. The machines have universal mounting arrangements.
