SOCIETY OF THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY - The New York group awarded Whitson Sadler its 2003 Chemical Industry Medal. Sadler is the retired president and chief executive officer of Solvay America Inc., a Houston plastics and chemicals firm. Sadler will be recognized Oct. 15 in New York. He has served as chairman of the American Plastics Council and the American Chemistry Council, and his guidance as chairman led to their merger.
