Whiskey barrel uses recycled materials
Worldwise Inc. of San Rafael, Calif., introduced the Dura Barrel whiskey barrel, an injection molded, 161/2-pound cask for use as a planter or in water gardens. The barrel is made of a blend of recycled wire insulation and high density polyethylene.
Officials said the container also can be used as a beverage cooler or catchall for garden tools or sandbox toys.
Pipe maker Genova introduces decking
Pipe extruder Genova Products Inc. debuted its line of decking, railing and lattice. The company said the deck boards have a unique tongue-and-groove deck board design that adds strength and versatility for joist replacement.
Davison, Mich.-based Genova extrudes the product at its facility in Hazleton, Pa.
Richell storage units aimed at U.S. buyers
Richell USA Inc. is Americanizing storage units typically used in the Japanese market.
The Grand Prairie, Texas, firm markets the injection molded stacking units as its Elite Storage System.
``It really steps us up to higher quality,'' said Gary Kleinjan, senior vice president of sales and marketing.
``We knew we had to start looking at product that fit the U.S. consumer.''
