AUTOLIV INC. - Wilhelm Kull, former chief financial officer and director of the Stockholm, Sweden-based automotive safety systems manufacturer, has retired. Sune Carlsson and George Lorch have been elected as independent directors to the board. Carlsson is former president of Sweden-based global ball-bearing and seals firm AB SKF. Lorch is chairman emeritus of Armstrong Holdings Inc., the parent company of U.S. flooring producer Armstrong World Industries Inc.
BELVAC PRODUCTION MACHINERY INC. - The rigid plastic container machinery manufacturer in Lynchburg, Va., named Syed Asghar director of plastic container systems engineering.
BRITISH VITA PLC - Jim Mercer, chairman and former chief executive of the Manchester, England-based compounder, sheet and foam maker, will retire in January. Independent director David Cotterill will succeed Mercer as nonexecutive chairman. Keith Hopkins has been named nonexecutive director. Hopkins is chairman of Scapa Group plc and former chief executive of British industrial group Croda International plc. Mike Moore has been named sales manager for Vita Thermoplastic Polymers, serving the United Kingdom and Europe.
BUNZL PLC - The London profile extruder and molder appointed Michael Roney to its board as an independent director. Roney is European president of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
CARCLO PLC - Peter Lee and Adam Broadbent retired as independent board members for the technical plastics molder based in Wakefield, England.
CERTAINTEED CORP. - The diversified manufacturer based in Valley Forge, Pa., named David LaBelle director of health, safety and environmental services for its exterior products group. LaBelle formerly was manager of environmental health and safety.
CYRO INDUSTRIES - The acrylic sheet and molding compound maker based in Rockaway, N.J., named William Lowman president and chief executive officer.
DEKKA RESINS INC. - Al Koffman, vice president of sales and marketing, has retired from the polyolefins recycler, based in Brantford, Ontario. Koffman was also a beginning partner with the firm.
D S SMITH PLC - The London packaging group named Gavin Morris group finance director. He replaces David Buttfield, who retired early this year.
DUPONT DOW ELASTOMERS LLC - The specialty elastomers supplier in Wilmington, Del., named John Lewis president and chief executive officer.
EIMO OYJ - The injection molder, based in Lahti, Finland, named Anssi Klinga its chief financial officer and a member of the group's global executive management team. Niilo Oksa, president and managing director of Eimo Americas, has taken up the post of group senior vice president, human resources and administration.
HEYWOOD WILLIAMS GROUP PLC - Hamish Bryce, chairman of the profile and pipe manufacturer, based in Huddersfield, England, took over as executive chairman in July, following the resignation of group chief executive Ian Stuart. William Schmuhl, a nonexecutive group board member, assumed executive responsibility for Heywood Williams' U.S. pipe and mobile home component production operations.
MACFARLANE GROUP PLC - Iain Duffin has resigned as chief executive officer with the packaging firm, based in Glasgow, Scotland. Chairman John Ward assumed the role of executive chairman until a new chief executive is appointed.
PLASTICOLORS INC. - The maker of pigment and color dispersion systems based in Ashtabula, Ohio, announced several appointments: Mark Lodwick, head of the new sales division; Larry Haines, director of marketing; Liz Campbell, product development manager; Marty Holden, market development manager; and Brian Czuchra, technical marketing specialist.
POLYCHEM ALLOY INC. - The compounder based in Lenoir, N.C., has named Ron McGregor its European operations director to develop new business in the region. McGregor is a business start-up specialist with a background in the coatings and rubber sectors.
REXAM PLC - Rolf BÃ¶rjesson, chief executive of the London consumer packaging producer, will become the group's nonexecutive chairman next year. He will replace the current chairman, Jeremy Lancaster. The group also has appointed Carl Symon as a nonexecutive director. Symon is currently managing director for global business development and alliances at U.S. management consultancy DiamondCluster International Inc.
SHARP INTERPACK LTD. - United Kingdom rigid plastics packaging producer Sharp Interpack of Bridgwater, England, has consolidated its companywide sales and marketing leadership with two new appointments. It has named David Wilkinson new marketing director covering both Sharp's Aylesham and Bridgwater manufacturing sites. Jeremy Sampson becomes the firm's sales director, responsible for merging existing sales teams in Britain and mainland Europe.
