As a Plastics News reader and a concerned, retired tooling and plastic company owner, I have been reading all the concerned letters about all the jobs that have been lost to China and other countries. I have never seen things so bad in our trade, and I have been at it for 55 years.
Here is a chance for a good front-page headline: “Save American manufacturing jobs now.”
You have the chance to be a hero with all the small and medium-sized shops that are left in business and you cover every state with your wonderful publication. They do not have the time and funding that it takes to let our government know that they are hurting. And, believe me, if it continues the way it is going, the government will have no one to govern (unless they go overseas).
