Industrial Magnetics Inc. of Boyne City, Mich., has rolled out the Clean Flow drawer magnet housing, a compact unit that removes tramp metal from low-volume injection molding. Mounted on the injection press, it has a clear plexiglass door for monitoring resin flow and viewing metal collected in the tubes.
IMI also has introduced a torpedo magnet, designed to capture ferrous tramp metal in plastics hopper loaders. The permanent circuit consists of powerful, rare earth magnets. The torpedo hangs in the center of the loader's glass sight tube.
IMI also has unveiled a line of plate magnets to remove metal from plastic regrind.
