G.F. Goodman & Son Inc.'s Simple-Servo 8-inch rotary cutter avoids the cost and complexity of microprocessor-based controls, while it increases the accuracy of cut length and is easy to operate, said the company in Ivyland, Pa.
“Unlike microprocessor-based servos whose blade actuation times vary by internal scan loop times of typically one millisecond, the new-generation servo controls require no processing time, reducing cut-length deviations by 1 millimeter for every 200 feet-per-minute of line speed,” said Gary Gassman, sales manager.
Simple-Servo can change cut lengths from two to 20 times faster, with 40-95 percent less wasted product, according to Goodman. Instead of requiring an operator to access a main menu and cut-length menu, then enter the entire measurement, the Simple-Servo requires the operator only to tap an arrow to highlight the digit to be changed, then tap up or down arrows to change the digit.
Also new from Goodman is a Mini Cutter Pinch Roll System, which automatically feeds, measures and cuts tubing and hose to a variety of lengths, using a keypad entry, which eliminates the need to inventory cut products.
