ISCO Industries LLC of Louisville now has a branch in Houston.
The distributor of high density polyethylene pipe acquired a branch of Maskell-Robbins Inc., a supplier of pipe, fittings and fusion services based in Mountlake Terrace, Wash.
ISCO officials said Houston is a hot area for HDPE pipe, and one area where the company was lacking a presence.
``Contractors around Houston have pioneered HDPE's use in trenchless applications to solve the city's ongoing utility infrastructure problems,'' ISCO President Jimmy Kirchdorfer said in a news release. ``Much of M-R's HDPE business came from the industrial and petrochemical arena, markets that represent excellent potential for us.''
ISCO has 13 locations. In April the firm acquired stocking locations in Fresno, Calif., and Vancouver, Wash., from National Waterworks Inc., a pipe and fittings distributor in Waco, Texas.
