There's a new president at blown film equipment supplier Kiefel Inc. in Wrentham, the U.S. headquarters of Germany-based Kiefel Extrusion GmbH.
Kiefel has named Bob Hawkins its new U.S. president. The former president, Steve Engel, will remain with the company in a sales capacity, Hawkins said.
Edgar Gandelheidt, chief executive officer of Kiefel Extrusion in Worms, Germany, said Hawkins is well-known in the industry. He said Hawkins ``will bring his own style to Kiefel and we are sure [he] will add a new dimension to the future of Kiefel Inc.''
Kiefel launched its Kirion blown film systems to North America at this year's NPE show. The company said Kirion highlights its expertise in blown film lines that produce as many as seven layers. Hawkins said Kiefel is seeing an upturn in its U.S. business.
``The investment made in our Kirion product and our NPE booth is starting to pay off,'' he said.
Hawkins is a 13-year veteran of the plastics machinery industry. He was the owner of recycling systems supplier Munchy Ltd. in Wallingford, England. A year ago, Munchy was purchased by Boston Matthews Plastics Machinery Ltd., an extrusion equipment maker in Worcester, England.
