Two compounding executives will share the stage at the Plastics News Executive Forum 2004 in Las Vegas to discuss prospects and trends for that key supply sector. John Manuck, president of Los Angeles-based Techmer PM LLC, and Larry Montsinger, president of Matthews, N.C.-based MTI Thermoplastic Composites, are active in distinctly different segments of the compounding business.
Techmer makes color concentrates and has been busy globally recently, striking production deals with a Chinese counterpart as well as with Ciba Specialty Chemicals in Europe and Asia, as it aggressively moves to expand its international profile. MTI, meanwhile, a unit of Montsinger Technologies Inc., focuses on specialty niches such as long-fiber-reinforced and continuous-fiber thermoplastic compounds that offer some of the sector's best growth prospects.
Manuck and Montsinger will be two of 30 presenters at the Feb. 1-4 Executive Forum, which will be held at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort at Summerlin. The conference will tackle such topics as global competitiveness, processor and mold-maker growth strategies, merger and acquisition trends, resin supply and pricing prospects, management best practices, and key design issues.
