AccuRate Bulk Solids Metering of Whitewater, Wis., said its Multicor Solids Flowmeter measures the weight of resin when it moves from rail car into the silo. The equipment saves resin makers the time and cost of continually going back and forth between the loading silos and the rail scales because the loaded car is either underweight or overweight.
After going through the extrusion and screening process, finished pellets are transferred through a tube inlet into the Multicor, which totals the weight of the pellets and moves the material through a vented air lock in a pneumatic conveyor line, then into the silo. The correct amount is automatically dispensed to fill one rail car.
AccuRate also said its line of volumetric and gravimetric Mechatron feeders have been installed in plastic/wood composite manufacturing facilities throughout North America. The feeder is well-suited for feeding fillers like wood flour, the company said.
