Wayne Machine & Die Co. developed its Yellow Jacket counter-rotating twin-screw extruder for processing powdered PVC and high density polyethylene, plus other types of plastics, for laboratory and small-production applications.
The barrel is built in three segments, including one for vacuum venting.
Each section has two universal melt taps for melt pressure or melt temperature monitoring, or the injection of gas or liquids. The drive is a 5-horsepower, alternating current flux vector. The extruder comes with a volumetric feeder.
Wayne Machine is based in Totowa, N.J.,
