Kice Industries Inc. of Wichita, Kan., claims its 4MMA and 6MMA multi-aspirators are the first multiple dedusters specially designed to mount directly to the inlet of an injection molding machine.
They can run 50-400 pounds of material per hour. Larger-capacity units are available. The units are designed to remove fines from plastic before it is molded.
Fines can burn and create black spots and blemishes in the finished product.
Kice said that while other dedusters elsewhere in the plant can remove fines, more fines are created when transporting “clean” pellets to an injection press.
Kice said its VR7 filter cleans air efficiently while taking up a minimum of floor space. The unit uses pleated cartridge filters, which pack more surface area in the small space.
The quiet-running Positive Displacement Blower can handle line sizes of 3-6 inches.
Features include oversized bearings and shafts, plus an extra drive bearing to support the “V” belt load. Blower rotors and bodies are made of ductile cast iron from Kice's in-house foundry.
