Bob Burt joined MGS in 1999 after serving for close to 20 years in tooling management. He currently is MGS vice president of sales engineering, where he supervises tooling accounts and product development, and was formerly director of international business development. Burt works from his home office in Chandler, Ariz.
After graduating in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in sales from University of Michigan in Dearborn, he traveled to Arizona to work for Tech Plastics Inc. and as telecommunications business unit manager for InteSys Technologies Inc., where he supervised tool engineering and sales. He also was plastics business unit manager at Oberg Industries Inc.'s facility in Chandler, Ariz., for two years before joining MGS.
MGS ranked eighth in Plastics News' March 2003 ranking of North American mold makers, with tooling sales of $43.7 million. The company, based in Germantown, Wis., takes a full-service approach, offering comprehensive work in tooling, multi-shot molding equipment, injection and blow molding, design and turnkey plant assembly. MGS in 2003 recorded corporate sales of about $100 million.
