Roger Klouda is president of MSI Mold Builders, one of the largest non-automotive mold manufacturers in the United States. MSI was founded in 1971 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by Klouda´s parents, Ed and CharLes, and will record sales of about $15 million this year.
Klouda, an Iowa State University graduate, joined MSI in 1978 and became president in 1987. He is in the process of buying the business from his parents. Klouda also serves on the national board for the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. and previously has served on the American Mold Builders Association board of directors and as president of the Eastern Iowa Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers.
MSI manufactures more than 200 molds annually for the injection, structural foam, gas assist, reaction injection molding, blow and structural web processes. The company has opened satellite toolmaking facilities in Bentonvile, Ark., and Greenville, S.C., and employs about 115 people.
