Hot-runner manufacturer Mold-Masters Ltd. hopes to build a new headquarters several miles east of its Georgetown site next year, according to a local newspaper report.
Mold-Masters owns land in Halton Hills, Ontario, where it wants to build the new head office, according to a report in the Brampton, Ontario, Guardian. Local officials approved spending C$1.5 million (US$1.2 million) to help fund water-main servicing in the area. Mold-Masters would contribute about another C$1.1 million (US$847,000) to have the water main built.
The Guardian reported that Halton Hills officials were not planning to invest in the regional water main until 2008, but Mold-Masters' proposal to prepay its portion could fast-track construction. The water main would allow industrial development in the heavily traveled area west of Toronto's airport, which contains major highways.
Company officials confirmed plans for the new site, but did not provide more details at press time.
