Silver Line Building Products Corp. is focusing on patented products to protect the company against overseas competition, said President Ken Silverman in a Jan. 19 interview at the International Builders' Show in Las Vegas.
The North Brunswick, N.J., vinyl extruder and injection molder introduced a patent-pending injection molded hopper window, New Series 300.
Silver Line operates 16 injection presses at its headquarters site, under a subsidiary known as Custom Craft Plastics Inc. Silverman said the firm will add injection molding capacity at other sites as needed, depending on the growth of the new products.
Via injection molding, the window has a seamless frame and sash construction that is airtight and watertight, and the window is available with flanges for cinder-block walls or without flanges for poured walls. The sash is easy to operate and completely removable, according to product information.
In other news, Silver Line will begin operating its extrusion site in Fall River, Mass., in about a month. The company is planning additional expansion at its facility in Marion, Ohio, and announced recently its intent to add extrusion to a fabrication site in Lansing, Ill. It operates one other extrusion plant in Lithia Springs, Ga.
