Jerry Mosingo, who left injection molder Collins & Aikman Corp. in August, is back in the automotive supply business for at least this year, signing on as chief operating officer for ASC Inc.
Mosingo served a year as chief executive officer for C&A before being replaced by Chairman David Stockman. Mosingo has spent 30 years with various auto industry businesses, and ran plastics operations for Textron Automotive Co. Inc. before it was purchased by Troy, Mich-based C&A in 2001.
His tenure with Southgate-based ASC will last at least through 2004. He may stay longer than that, ASC spokesman Tim Yost said, but no official decision on the length of his position has been made yet.
Mosingo replaces Scott Koepke, who will serve as COO of ASC-Yachiyo Manufacturing Ltd., a joint venture in Columbus, Ohio, that makes sunroofs for Honda vehicles. ASC produces specialized components and vehicles, with both composites and metal forming operations.
``We especially look forward to tapping [Mosingo's] expertise in launch performance and all-around manufacturing execution,'' CEO Paul Wilbur said in a Feb. 9 news release.
