Alloy Polymers Inc. boosts Ohio capacity

Alloy Polymers Inc. is adding a new twin-screw extrusion line and retrofitting another at its plant in Gahanna, Ohio.
The moves are expected to be complete by mid-2004 and will add about 14 million pounds of annual compounding capacity, according to sales and marketing director Peter Cookson.
Alloy, a toll compounder based in Richmond, Va., bought the Gahanna plant from Basell NV in 2002.
CCC grows sales, adds extrusion line
CCC Plastics added its sixth twin-screw extrusion line in early 2003 and is enjoying solid growth in the injection molding, packaging and consumer goods markets.
Sales at Colborne, Ontario-based CCC were ``up slightly'' in 2003, according to plastics market manager Kathleen Grills. The private firm does not release sales totals.
CCC makes compounds and concentrates based on PVC and polyolefins, as well as distributing resins and compounds for 16 suppliers, including Dow Chemical Co. and DuPont Co.
