Recently formed Rapid Product Development Group Inc. of Escondido is completing agreements for a Taiwan firm to make tools and a Chinese business to provide toolmaking, injection molding and assembly.
The firm was formed in September to create prototypes and deliver long-run projects to contract manufacturers.
``We will match resources [with] customer needs,'' particularly in providing quick production for new product launches, said Tony Moran, chief executive officer and president.
Moran was vice president of Arrk Product Development Group in San Diego.
RPDG has a 15,000-square-foot prototype facility using the services of a Tijuana, Mexico, shelter operator. The site offers stereolithography, casting and computer numerical control services and may add tool maintenance.
