The soaring value of the euro is making U.S. companies attractive targets for European investors, and plastics firms are in the crosshairs.
A June 23 panel at Plastics Encounter Midwest's Management Day conference will explore likely ramifications of that trend, and include insights from Jean-Rene Hartpence, Paris-based founder of Canec International Ltd.
Canec provides trans-Atlantic mergers and acquisitions services to the midcap market. It brokered the 2002 sale of French specialty compounder Multibase SA to Dow Corning Corp.
Hartpence will be joined in the discussion by Jim Hill, managing partner of Cleveland law firm Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP, and Bill Ridenour, president of Newbury, Ohio-based Polymer Transaction Advisors Inc. A representative from a plastics company active in the M&A field also will participate.
Management Day is one of two Plastics News-organized conferences (the other is Design Day) at the June 22-24 Plastics Encounter Midwest trade show in Cleveland.
