Blow molder WhiteRidge Plastics LLC plans to expand its Reidsville operation.
The firm expects to invest $822,000 this year and will finalize plans following the approval of an incentives package from the city and Rockingham County. County commissioners will meet June 7 for a public hearing on the incentives package. WhiteRidge plans to hire 16 employees, mainly for manufacturing operations, in the expansion. It now employs 85.
The firm does a mix of proprietary and custom blow molding. It operates 12 machines with shot capacities of 1-70 pounds and clamping forces up to 180 tons. Its Reidsville facility includes 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 60,000 square feet of storage space.
WhiteRidge Chief Executive Officer Bob Hartman said in a news release that the region's work ethic and local government support have helped the firm grow in Reidsville since the company established there in 1994.
The firm's proprietary products include dock floats, power tool cases and nursery containers.
