Custom injection molder Alliance Precision Plastics Corp. is expanding in the medical market with a new clean room.
``Our focus for the next several months is to gain more knowledge of our customers' requirements in the clean medical field and adjust our capabilities to meet those requirements,'' said Dave Hanna, new business unit manager.
Alliance PPC has two facilities in Rochester, encompassing 200,000 square feet. The new clean room takes up 4,800 square feet of space that previously was unused. The Class 100,000 clean room features some new machines and some that were relocated from other areas of the plant, Hanna said.
Currently, four molding machines and some subassembly equipment mold noninvasive medical products in the clean room. But according to Hanna, Alliance PPC is looking to expand the room's capabilities.
The company has been making molds for more than four years for medical purposes. Other key markets include business machines, electronics, leisure products, automobiles and appliances. The company has more than 70 injection presses and designs and builds tools in-house.
Alliance PPC employs more than 300. The firm serves the business machine, medical and consumer products markets.
