Robert D. Minneman, founder of injection molder and mold maker Minco Group, died June 19 after a battle with cancer. He was 72.
Minneman founded Minco Tool & Mold Inc. in 1954 after serving in the Korean War from 1951-54. He later created Minco Group, which includes Minco Tool and All Service Plastic Molding Inc. Under his direction, Dayton-based Minco Group expanded to become a full-service manufacturer that employs more than 300.
Minneman was a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, the American Mold Builders Association, the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. and Dayton Tooling and Manufacturing Association.
Minneman is survived by his wife, Pat; son Joe, who is Minco vice president; and two daughters, Margaret Beach and Amanda Birtle.
