Mold builder Holscoe Precision Tooling Inc. has moved into a new building and now is focusing on new technology and partnerships to help it expand to a targeted $10 million in annual sales.
The 20-employee firm moved into a 22,000-square-foot building in Whitby, Ontario, earlier this year, replacing space at two nearby facilities in Ajax and Oshawa, Ontario, said Ed Ounjian, production manager, during a June 22 interview at the American Contract Manufacturers show in Cleveland.
Holscoe specializes in injection molds used on on 500-ton presses and smaller. It currently has about $3.5 million in sales. The company has its own fleet of presses to try out molds, Ounjian said.
Additional technical investments are aimed at improving delivery and automation capabilities, he said.
The company also has a partnership with a toolmaker in southern China. The venture has turned out 45 molds in the past four years, said Bill Yarbrough, technical sales. In addition, the mold maker operates a design office in Hong Kong.
