Champion Polymer Recycling, a division of Infiltrator Systems Inc., will open a reprocessing and distribution center in Winchester by August.
Champion will lease a 40,000-square-foot building in an industrial park in Winchester, where Infiltrator already runs three plants. Champion is the materials purchasing division of Infiltrator, an Old Saybrook, Conn.-based molder of septic-system chambers and storm-water systems.
The new Champion facility will process new material feedstocks and distribute them to Infiltrator plants. Champion also will begin marketing materials.
The Winchester-Clark County Industrial Authority recently approved Champion's expansion plan.
The agency's director of economic development, Phil Kerrick, said the industrial authority has employment and other goals for companies in its industrial park. Goals include creating 10 jobs per acre of a company's site.
Infiltrator and Champion together will occupy 381/2 acres in the park, including 9 acres for the new site.
