General Plastex Inc., which makes screws and barrels in Barberton, Ohio, has introduced a portable screw-polishing system for customers to use in their plants.
The new method replaces the traditional way that can damage the screw surface. General Plastex said it will not damage screws. It also is faster than the older methods of screw polishing.
The system is shipped with coarse, medium and fine polishing belts, a magnetic work light, accessories, an employee face shield and an air-powered die grinder with Scotch Bright wheels. A screw-measuring work sheet and a flight bridge for taking screw measurements also are included.
