PolyTech has introduced WinTXU software for compounders and others that want to design a screw configuration for modular, co-rotating twin-screw extruders.
Extrusioneering International Inc. distributes PolyTech's WinTXU in North America. The design tool uses PolyTech's TXS simulation software's database of more than 70 commercial extruders. The user assembles a virtual extruder from a library of screw and barrel elements. The software lets the designer see the location of mixing elements with respect to the barrel openings.
PolyTech is in Branford, Conn. Extrustioneering of Randolph, N.J., is a distributor and consultant for twin-screw extrusion technologies.
