NEUTRAUBLING, GERMANY (Aug. 30, 9 a.m. EDT) — Fans of high-output PET blow molding should stop by Krones AG's booth at K 2004.
Krones of Neutraubling will run two machines:
* A Contiform S24 stretch blow molding machine with 24 cavities that can make 1,800 18-ounce PET bottles an hour from each cavity.
* A Contiform S10 with 10 molds, which can run 1,800 1½-liter bottles an hour per cavity.
Krones has designed Contiform S stretch blow molding machines to use a two-stage process, with a blowing wheel and a linear oven arranged next to it. The modular construction allows Krones to match the two components, giving optimum machine efficiency.
The line of machines can turn out PET bottles with volumes up to 3 liters, and also blow mold wide-neck bottles.
The S10 at K will be equipped with Krones' Air Wizard package, which greatly reduces the machine's air consumption — resulting in lower operating costs.
Krones said Air Wizard can cut air consumption costs 25 percent.
