Par 4 Plastics Inc. is embarking on a $5.5 million plan to add 24,000 square feet to its 50,000-square-foot site to boost capacity almost 50 percent.
The Marion custom injection molder makes automotive interior parts and exterior lighting. President Joe McDaniel did not return calls, but the expansion was confirmed by Steve Davidson, president of Crittenden County Development Corp., which is working with Par 4 to win state funds for jobs and machinery. Par 4 employs about 150. The firm bought a 24-acre site in 2002. It later joined with Harumi Minami in a joint venture called Par 4 Assemblies Inc. at the site.
The Paducah, Ky., Sun said McDaniel is in a legal battle for control of the venture with Minami and her husband, Paul Nielson, who own 51 percent of Par 4 Assemblies. McDaniel owns the rest and leases the site to the venture.
