Leading Austrian dairy Nöm AG has boosted its output of flavored health drinks packaged in PET bottles with the purchase of two new SIG Corpoplast stretch blow molding machines.
The two Blomax 12 Series III machines each can mold 18,000 bottles per hour. Last year, the Baden-based firm installed a Blomax 10 Series II, its first machine from Corpoplast of Hamburg, Germany. That addition enabled the dairy's Baden factory to turn out about 1.2 million bottles, which were mostly single-serve containers.
Weighing just 81/2 grams, the PET bottle was the smallest ever produced on a Corpoplast machine, according to SIG.
Nöm still packages much of its liquid products in cartons. The company processes the output of more than 6,000 dairy farmers per year.
