Stapla Ultrasonics Corp. of Wilmington, Mass., said its K35-XT ultrasonic welder combines a rigid cast alloy column, for weld consistency, with automatic tool protection, dubbed ATP.
ATP comes from computer control, position sensing and precise servomotor control.
By measuring weld depth, referencing tolerance values and applying a self-calibrating force, the welder can compensate for part variations during the welding cycle, according to Stapla.
