Extrusion equipment supplier Custom Downstream Systems Inc. consolidated operations into one larger plant earlier this year to handle increased demand.
The Lachine, Quebec, firm opened the 120,000-square-foot facility in January, after moving from two facilities that in total were slightly smaller, marketing coordinator Alan Benlolo said at Plastics USA in Chicago. The firm increased its testing lab and plans to build a lab extrusion line.
The firm also introduced a standard line of equipment for dual extrusion of fence and window-related products. It previously had used a dual line for pipe applications, he said.
