Synventive Molding Solutions Inc. will start making hot-runner systems in May at a site in Suzhou, China.
The firm purchased a new, 28,000-square-foot facility to house production, sales and support. The move will support North American and European customers with operations in China and serve the growing local molding industry, Synventive said.
The site is close to the many molders in the area supplying the automotive sector, spokesman Bart Jan Jongenotter said in an interview at K 2004, held Oct. 20-27 in Dusseldorf.
The company will start production in Suzhou of Multizone and Kona XP hot runners with 32 employees. Critical parts initially will come from Synventive's facility in Gravendeel, the Netherlands. The firm will open additional sales offices, in Suzhou and Shenzhen, during the first quarter of 2005.
Synventive's North American operation is in Peabody, Mass.
