Michael Koch, managing director of Ferromatik Milacron Maschinenbau GmbH, has left the Malterdingen-based maker of injection molding machines, the company announced Nov. 18.
Ferromatik Milacron is part of Milacron Inc. of Cincinnati.
Milacron said Koch left the company ``for personal reasons.'' Meanwhile, Karlheinz Bourdon, president of global plastics machinery, is serving as interim director for Ferromatik Milacron.
The news that Koch has left surprised machinery industry sources in Germany. Less than a month ago, at K 2004, Koch shared the microphone with other top Milacron executives.
Ferromatik Milacron employs about 470 in Malterdingen. The factory will turn out 500-550 injection presses this year, Koch said at the K 2004 show in Dusseldorf.
Koch joined Ferromatik Milacron in 2001. Earlier, he held positions at several plastics machinery makers, including Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. and Krupp Corpoplast.
Koch could not be reached for comment. News of his departure came too late to be included in this issue's Page 1 outlook story.
