Craig Blizzard joined Himont Inc., a predecessor company to Basell, in 1989 as industry director for North America. He subsequently served as director of marketing, director of sales and director of business development for the North American polypropylene business before taking an expatriate assignment in Tokyo, Japan, as executive VP and managing director of the company's advanced polyolefins joint venture there. That unit marketed advanced polyolefins to the global Japan-based automotive industry.
Upon his return to the United States, Blizzard was appointed global business director for Basell Inc.'s Catalloy elastomeric resin business. Most recently, the Baltimore, Md., native agreed to serve as North American marketing director for PP resins.
He previously worked as vice president of sales and marketing for the U.S. plastic packaging division of Consumers Glass Co., which subsequently became part of Winpak Ltd. Basell (www.basell.com), the world's largest producer of polypropylene and advanced polyolefins products, employs 6,700, has annual sales of about $7.5 billion and manufacturing operations (together with its joint ventures) in 20 countries.
Blizzard graduated from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore with a degree in mathematical sciences, and received an MBA in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
