Resin distribution giant H. Muehlstein & Co. Inc. of Norwalk announced three major management changes Jan. 10.
Mark Lux, a 28-year company veteran, was promoted to president and chief operating officer. Lux had served as vice president, with overall commercial responsibility for North America and Asia, since 1997.
Jerrold Johnston, who joined the firm in 1970, was named executive vice president. He also will remain general manager for Latin America and a company director.
Fernando Montenegro was named vice president and a director. A 22-year company veteran, he also will remain manager of its polyethylene business.
Lux, Johnston and Montenegro will remain based in Norwalk.
Although Muehlstein does not release sales figures, the company confirmed it distributed more than 2.8 billion pounds of plastic and rubber polymers in 2004. That total represents a gain of 17 percent vs. the previous year.
Muehlstein also operates Channel Prime Polymers, Pegasus Polymers, Muehlstein Compounded Products and Trinity Special Compounding. The 94-year-old firm distributes most major commodity and engineering resins.
