Omnova Solutions Inc. resumed full production Jan. 24 at its plant in Jeannette, Pa., following a labor settlement.
United Steelworkers of America Local 22L accepted terms of a new contract Jan. 20, said Omnova spokeswoman Sandi Noah.
Noah said key parts of the pact include more-flexible work conditions and sharing of health-care costs. The local was the only one for which Omnova paid all health-program costs.
Wages will rise under the agreement, which will last nearly four years. Noah would not disclose wage details, but said that before the agreement, Jeannette workers were earning 8 percent more than the average in their industry.
Omnova, based in Fairlawn, makes PVC laminates in Jeannette and at four other locations.
The laminates are used in banners, awnings and signage. Omnova management stressed the need for better productivity because the firm faces pressure from imports.
