Azek Trimboards, a cellular PVC trim extruder in Moosic, Pa., is adding a second production facility in Scranton, Pa.
Officials said the new, 250,000-square-foot site should be operating by the third quarter.
The new plant will contain multiple extrusion lines - the company would not provide details - and a blending facility, said Ralph Bruno, Azek's vice president of sales and marketing. Azek's sales have been doubling every 12-18 months, Bruno said, but he did not provide details.
The new facility will allow Azek to add 25-30 employees each year for the next three to four years. By the end of 2005, Azek will have about 200 employees, Bruno said.
``Our new facility will ensure our capacity will continue to stay ahead of our sales growth,'' he said.
The firm introduced millwork profiles at the International Builders' Show, held Jan. 13-16 in Orlando. The products include brick molding, crown molding and drip cap.
In other Azek news, Glenn Lanning was promoted Feb. 1 to national accounts manager. Lanning had served as territory sales manager for the Southeast. Jeff Keisling was named vice president of research and development Jan. 3. He will be in charge of product testing, product development and technical field support.
Azek's product lines include trim board, corner board, bead board and sheet. The trim products are sold through lumberyards throughout the United States and Canada. Azek is owned by Moosic-based Vycom Corp.
