A management group has bought Hosokawa Bepex, a Minneapolis firm that makes equipment for the resin production, chemical and food industries.
Bepex machinery includes mills to produce fine powders and solid-stating equipment to make PET and polylactic acid.
The purchase, from Hosokawa Micron Corp. of Osaka, Japan, was effective Nov. 19. The division has been renamed Bepex International LLC.
President Ralph Imholte led the management group that bought the unit. In Minneapolis, the company runs a polymer development center called PolyQuest that focuses on thermal processing applications.
