Yuh-Dak showroom opens up in Ontario
A Taiwanese maker of vertical injection presses, Yuh-Dak Machinery Co. Ltd., has opened a showroom in Newmarket, Ontario, at its subsidiary, Yuh-Dak North America Inc.
The company makes machines with clamping forces of 15-400 tons, said Ben Suen, chief executive officer of the Ontario operation. All Yuh-Dak presses have vertical clamping. Vertical injection is featured on the Y series and the high-speed YH series. YHS C-frame presses and YHT-series machines use horizontal injection.
Yuh-Dak machines do insert molding of connectors and other small parts.
Suen said Yuh-Dak builds its export machines at its headquarters plant in Taipei, Taiwan. The company also makes machines at a plant in Dongguan, China, but sells those vertical presses only within China, he said.
Suen said Yuh-Dak officials decided to open a North American office after a successful NPE 2003, where Yuh-Dak sold its show-floor machine the first day.

Linden introduces foam technologies
Linden Industries Inc. has introduced three technologies for polyurethane foam processors that want to use a single mixhead and machine to make foam of varying densities:
* Hydraulically driven, two-position orifices for multidensity metering automatically can modify the throughput rates/ratios in the mixhead. The attachment switches the mixhead between two recipes.
* A hydraulically operated, two-position clean-out piston is operated by the mixhead hydraulics. The mixhead can be tuned for mixing of high- and low-throughput situations, with stops to lock in alternate settings.
* A servo-controlled clean-out piston has infinite ratio variations, so molders can run a variety of formulations and outputs on the same line with a single metering machine.
Also new from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based Linden is LaserSite technology for high-pressure mixing heads used in open-pour applications.
