Novapak Corp.'s growth in PET bottles led it to add a new Husky injection press for molding preforms.
The Eatontown firm will install the machine at its Paris, Ill., plant this summer. It chose a Husky HyPET 300 48-cavity system partly because it allows for production flexibility.
``We do at least one or two mold changes per day, so uptime, speed and fast cycles are essential,'' Novapak President and Chief Executive Officer William Bergen said in a news release.
Novapak marketing manager Bob Ciok said in a recent telephone interview that the Paris operation already runs several Husky injection presses, but the HyPET will be the first of its kind in the plant.
