Mold maker Mauston Tool Corp. has installed a second injection molding machine at its Wisconsin facility for testing.
The 165-ton Krauss-Maffei press joins a Van Dorn press with a 350-ton capacity at the Mauston-based company. The new press can be converted to a two-shot machine if needed, said Mauston Tool owner Richard Schwab.
The presses allow customers to work out manufacturing adjustments ahead of time, so they can put tools directly to work, Schwab said.
``The integration of mold sampling into the mold-building process was a natural,'' he said.
The 50-employee firm supplies tools for a variety of customers, with extensive work in the automotive and household appliance industries.
