MENOMONEE FALLS, WIS. - Dynamic Tool & Design Inc. is more than doubling its sampling capacity. The toolmaker is adding three Krauss-Maffei injection presses.
The three presses have clamping forces of 80, 200 and 500 tons, said Kim Lodahl, Dynamic's marketing coordinator. The larger presses are equipped with a rotary table and second injection unit capable of sampling both two-shot and three-shot projects.
The 500-ton press can use extended platen and tie-bar lengths to allow for larger tools and stack molds.
She said the new machines will let the firm duplicate customer cycle times. Dynamic will be able to run several hundred thousand pre-production parts for inspection and line trials.
Dynamic Tool & Design now has five presses in its 34,000-square-foot Menomonee Falls facility. Dynamic employs 60. It does design, computer numerically controlled machine programming, wire electric discharge cutting, polishing, inspection and sampling.
Dynamic makes many molds for packaging, cosmetic and closure customers, Lodahl said, including multicavity tools, stack molds, multimaterial insert molds and unscrewing closure molds.
John Lau and Irv Fischer started the company in 1976 and currently serve as president and vice president.
